Dslr question vs my P&S?
Hello:
I have a Canon Digital Rebel xt which is an 8 pixel camera. I just ordered a 50mm 1.4 lens for it. Also just ordered a Canon G10 which is a 14 pixel (“high end”) point and shoot. Will the 8 pixel dslr still produce better images in a side by side comparison test?
as for the amount of pixels, 8 or 14, for prints, this is the size of the photo you could print without a loss of quality, that is mainly the use for the numbers in cameras, a 8 pixel camera will print a 16×23 inch photo without loss of quality while a 14 pixel camera will print a billboard size photo, so think about why you would want to invest in a 14 pixel camera, those extra pixels really are just a waste, unless you are working to shoot and make billboards, i use a 8 pixel camera and do not think i would ever buy one above 10 pixel, trying thinking about camera speeds, and other finer points in cameras, as pixels have reached their limits
