Setting up a Film Equipment Rental Business?
I’m living in Los Angeles and I’m interested in setting up a film equipment rental business. I am curious in what the best course of actions would be in setting up such a business.
I have been researching other rental businesses and their policies. I know I will need to create and write up a business plan. A particular question is where to start with gathering equipment (I see it difficult to sell myself if I just have one C-Stand).
I’m also curious about how well I need to know my equipment. To be honest, I’m a little behind on my camera knowledge and I’m hoping to get a better understand about different cameras soon. Do I need to be an expert or will that eventually come from experience with the equipment?
Should also add that I’m a film school graduate. The film industry isn’t something completely new to me.
get equipment, set up a contract/buisness plan, and then advertise really well.
Maybe offer coupons as incentives as well? idk just be sure that you charge a fair price, and also show why you’re better than the competition!!
