My camera will only turn on sometimes, and will shut off after I take one picture. What do I do?
About a week ago I spilled water on my camera and it wouldn’t work. I let it dry out in the sun for a day, and blow dried it for about eight hours. It started working again… except it will only turn on sometimes and turns off after I take a picture. When I put batteries in my camera the green light goes on that normally would only go on if I hit the power button, and starts flashing. Then when I hit the power button the light stays on, but the lens won’t open. I’ll then hit the shutter button and the red light that usually only goes on when focusing but the lens is still shut. If I do happen to get the lens to open, I can take one picture, and the camera turns off immediately. The camera saves to the memory card which is still fine, and I can then upload it to my computer. Also the batteries die quickly…
How can I fix my camera without taking it to a repair shop?
It is possible the water and the blow drier fried your camera. Call the manufacturer and tell them the camera is not working and see if they will repair it for you.
