does anyone know if state farm renter insurance covers theft of stuff on you away from home.?
I was in downtown indy, and some guy stole my digital camera from my purse and took off. Its about a $250 camera. I have renter insurance through state farm, but they are closed. Anyone know, or have a similar experience?
Thanks, I think I’ll just count it as a loss, becuase online it says my deductible is $500. This just really sucks how some people are so low to people who work for their stuff. Thanks again!
Yes, your renter’s policy will cover the theft. However, is it worth it to file a claim? What is your deductible, is it less than $250? Also, be aware that a claim, no matter how small, will probably result in higher premiums. Plus, you now have a claims history which could hinder you if you try to change companies or if you purchase a home and need homeowners insurance.
