what happens to the pictures i take when the memory card isnt in my camera?
ok so i have a really nice touch screen sony digital camera but i am furious because i cannot find the memory card that goes inside it. tomorrow my class and I have a field trip and i really wanted to take pictures. so my question is: if i take picture on my camera when the chip is not in, what happens to them when i find it? will they disappear when i put it in or will they stay?
Your Sony camera most likely has a small internal memory of maybe 16 mb when no memory card is inserted. This is only about 8-10 pictures. After this your camera will not hold any pictures. You will have to purchase a memory stick pro duo in order to hold anymore pictures. Fortunately you can find memory stick pro duos relatively cheap.
If you are shooting mostly photos you will probably be fine with a 2gb, although I would recommend 4gb. If you are shooting many videos I would suggest a 4gb card, maybe even 8 if shooting various videos exceeding 10 minutes in length. Also, make sure you transfer images to your computer often. It would be terrible to have over 2 months worth of photos deleted due to a memory card corruption.
