What could I do to improve photos…?
in concert lighting.
I currently use only my kit lens and play around with the settings on the camera. I plan to buy an external flash soon…
Anyways, the following photo was taken with these settings
f/5.6, 1/125, ISO 1600 with the focal length at 55mm.
I know its not as clear as it could be, but in a crowd of jumping teenage girls screaming it is really hard to hold a camera steady to help out in the low light.
I was just wondering what settings and what not I could change that would make a difference…

I don’t want to use photoshop, I am asking for advice while taking the photos… not postediting. I do not edit my photos, ever.
Aperture is good, ISO is good, and not a whole lot of noise either.
My advice would be to simply use a faster exposure. Concert photos are almost always under exposed and they pretty much always look good. You shouldn’t really be going for a perfect histogram here, but rather something more towards setting a mood.
My first reaction when I saw the picture was wow that is brighter than normal. So I would say you could easily use a faster shutter next time and you’ll be happy with the results.
