Video production question: Has anyone used a Figg Rig for their Mini DV Camera?
I was interested in the ups and downs of this stabilizer and would appreciate anyone telling me their experiences with the unit. Is it any good?
ive never actually used one, but from what ive read, it seems like its best for stabilizing shots when standing in one position. personally, i wouldnt buy it, cos the money can be used for other things. if i were you, id use a tripod and you dont have to use it in one position. if you are moving, a tripod folded up with its legs pulled out is a great stabilizer (hold it around the middle). also, a poor man’s steadicam offers similar stabilization for a low price (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/)
if you abosolutely have to buy it, try to find the seller with the lowest price. basically, just save as much of your money as you can. hope this helps!
