Failure to comply with traffic signal?
I have a ticket in the mail supposedly running a red light two weeks ago. Let the image of Pain: One minute I look up and the light is green. I look again when I'm about 10 feet closer to light (2 seconds later) and it is red. So to slam the breaks, but I see the camera takes a snapshot of me. What is actually stopped on the crosswalk (this was at night so no one was there) so technically did not run the light. In fact, I could see the light before me. This was in New Brunswick, NJ so that the fine is $ 85. Should I pay or you can fight it in court?
Technically and legally ran a red light if stopped at the stop line before the crosswalk. Running all the way through the crosswalk is the same as blowing all the way through the intersection. Traffic lights give at least three seconds in yellow. That's enough time to stop from 60 mph. How fast were you going? If you fight in the courts and the image shows that violating the law by stopping in the crosswalk – I guess I'm not sure what is the benefit that would be?
