can i use those stobe flashed with the umbrella on any kind of camera? i have a canon eos 7d…?

They are triggered wirelessly – if you look in the ad it says “1 x 16 Channel wireless Trigger (transmitter and receiver)”. You fit the transmitter onto the hotshoe of your camera, the receiver onto one of the flashes & set the other 2 to optical slave mode. They will then trigger optically when they ‘see’ the first flash go off (it’ll happen so quickly, they’ll effectively all go off together.)
Each if these lights is 180 W/s (watt/seconds) which is about 3 x the power output of a small speedlight type flash (about 60 W/s). They are not particularly powerful but will do for a small indoor studio.
You can get a manual speedlight for about £60 and a set of radio triggers for about £27. These will be less power but will be portable – depends if you only want to do studio work or if you want to do location shooting as well.
Jim – I can explain your problem – if your onboard flash is in TTL then the optically triggered strobes are firing on the preflash & have not recharged by the time the main flash fires which is why your pictures are underexposed. I’d also like to know what ‘standard flash settings’ are – no such thing!
