How to use Super macro mode with Canon PowerShot S5 IS camera?
I bought a Canon PowerShot S5 IS last week. But, I cannot take close up shots in Super Macro function. I tried to activate super macro by pressing the macro button for more than 1 second in SCN mode as directed in the basic instruction manual. But, the function is not getting activated. There is no further clarification in the advanced instruction manual regarding this also.
So, anybody who knows how to shoot with super macro, please tell me and help to shoot close up using that function. My email id is: drsajithnv@yahoo.com
You need to look at the Functions chart near the back of the user guide. This chart shows you exactly which settings are available in which shooting modes.
Have a look at ‘Macro/Super Macro’ in the FUNCTIONS chart on Page 200 of the Advanced User Guide…You need to simply turn your mode dial to…P, TV, AV, M…even movie mode, and it will work. But, if you have it in SCN mode you can only use it in the Colour Accent or Colour Swap settings.
If you use P (Program) mode, the camera will still select the aperture & shutter speed, much the same way as Auto, but you have the flexibility to change or adjust settings if you wish.
