getting into photo- need cam. advice (1,000 – 1,500$)?
I wasn’t to get into photography; i have been plating with the manual settings on my canon point and shoot for a few months for various scene types and low light. Also a year ago i purchased a Nikon d90 but, but regretfully, lost my job soon after and gave it back due to finances.
Now things have stabilized and i want to get back on the hoarse. I know the d90 is a great camera but it’s kind of old and there have many new comers to the dslr game since then. I love the way the d90 felt as opposed to lower end dslr cameras that felt like plastic toys from a toy store.
Should i get something now or my dream would be to get the d90 successor when it comes out… does anyone know when that will be?
Also i want to have either a Nikon or cannon, no other make please.
they type of shooting i want to focus on is low light, controlled depth of field, portraits, and family/ kids… that move fast so burst mode and sport mode is needed here.
Any thoughts?
The successor is out. It is the Nikon D7000.
And you really don’t need a burst mode for shooting sports. You have a fully adjustable camera and all you need is to do is learn how to use it the same way as you did your old D90

As you can see, controlling depth of field and shooting in low light really has not much to do with the camera (at least the D7000), but is the responsibility of the user.
