Tell me if this even looks real. On the Canon website is information about its Powershot TX1 digital camera. Look at the two pictures at the very bottom.

I’m talking about the pictures with the optical image stabilizer on and off. Notice with the image stabilizer off the background is blurry and with it on the background is clear, but in both pictures the foreground is clear. In fact, in both pictures it’s the exact same foreground! Doesn’t that mean BOTH of these pictures are just fake?
It could be real but it’s most likely fake (the subject is exactly the same in both shots, hair and all, and the chance of that happening is highly unlikely unless there’s IS bracketing or something). If it were real, it is possible.
Firstly, image stabilization doesn’t work magical wonders. It can help stabilize unwanted hand movements, but a low shutter speed is still a low shutter speed; IS does not prevent motion blur. This eliminates the swing theory.
So how is it possible? Slow sync flash. If a slow shutter speed is used to expose the dark scene and movement is present then the picture would be blurred. However, if the right amount of light were to illuminate the women at the beginning or end of the exposure then they would be clearly exposed against the blur.

It’s pretty elaborate for a wacky point and shoot like that and with the other indicators it’s probably safe to call fake.
