How many people in the U.S. own digital camera (or bought in 2006)?
I'm trying to find out more or less the number of people in the U.S. own digital cameras, especially cameras with video capability. Annual reports / Nikon Canon do not seem to break the sales made only to customers in the U.S. (Meet the sales figures of all countries together), so I wonder if there might be other sources of information. Thanks!
From an interesting article: In any case, 2006 will be another year of growth in digital camera sales, but analysts differ on the rate. According to the NPD Group, sales of cameras (including digital SLRs) will reach 29.5 million units in 2006 compared to the 25.2 million sold in 2005. The Photo Marketing Association (PMA) is less optimistic, predicting sales of digital SLR cameras reaching 20.7 million of its estimated 20.5 million of models sold in 2005. Finally, IDC, which tracks camera shipments to distributors, the market predicted to reach 31 million units.
