non genuine camera batteries?
I have a new kodak easyshare camera and want to get a rechargeable battery with charger. Is it advisable to get genuine kodak or is it safe to use non genuine high quality replacements which are obviously cheaper. Are there any downsides to this?
Buy from a reputable source and (sorry to say) this rules out eBay. There ARE many fake batteries out there – even fake sopies of generic brands!
If you stick to something from a dealer you know or someone like B&H Photo, you are probably fine. I have bought a couple or “Impact” brand from B&H and so far, so good. They actually hold a charge a little bit longer than the brand name batteries.
Many Kodak’s use “AA” batteries and there are so many brands out there that you have a wide, wide choice. Any brand you ever heard of would be fine. Some use Li-ion batteries and they are the ones I guess my answer refers to.
