When it comes to digital cameras, what does ISO mean?
I’m researching digital cameras, and I think I’ve decided on the Canon Powershot sd870is. I want to be able to use it to the best of it’s (and my) potential, but I don’t know what “ISO” means. Could someone please explain it to me? Thank you. 
In terms of digital photography, ISO is the number indicating a digital camera sensors sensitivity to light. The higher the sensitivity, the less light is needed to make an exposure. For a short, but informative article on ISO:
