are there any digital video cameras that can record & store at least 24 hours at a time?
there’s gotta be something out there, maybe it could take lower quality video & have a huge capacity. i need it for home security, i’ve looked at camera/dvr systems & they’re just too complicated. with a dv camcorder, all i need is the camera, a tripod, a huge memory card, and an AC power adaptor, set it up by a window, & format it every morning
well, i need it to watch my car. i would need 3 or 4 of them to capture all angles because my car is about 30 feet from my apartment building & there’s nothing near 3 sides of my car where i park. so i would much rather have a constant view recorded.
Some Sony Handycams with internal disks can store 23 hours or so of high-definition video, and many times longer in standard definition (several days of video). You would need to connect the camera to an AC adapter, but it would have plenty of video capacity.
For surveillance, you can also consider a webcam pointed out the window. You’d have to leave your PC on to record while you’re gone.
