Do i need firewire to transfer video from my JVC HD30 to my PC???…?
JVC HD30 is a HARD DRIVE camera – NOT a tape camera!…
It has both USB and firewire ports on the camera, but i am wondering if i can transfer video from the camera via the USB or do i need to use the firewire??
because you camera is a hard drive camera it does not need to play the information in real time,(like the way a mini dv does) all you need to do is connect it by usb lead that should have came with the camera and use the software disk also would have come with it, drag the files that have been imported into movie maker and go nuts!! the firewire lead is used for a tape camera, the readon why you can not use usb to import tape is that it would not import fast enough which would result in dropping frames!
