Nikon Coolpix L14 flash unit won’t work?
Nikon Coolpix L14- when trying to take pics, the red charging light blinks for the flash, when I push down the shutter button, but flash will not work, nor will camera. The only way the camera will take a picture is if I turn the flash off. I have gone through the Nikon owners manual, as well as the support section online. I put lithium batteries in it, tried the ‘reset all’ feature, and tried the assorted auto easy settings. This seemed to start after the camera was used in the video mode, though I have checked to be sure none of the settings were in effect. The camera has not been overly used and is well cared for. It seems to me the flash is not getting the power from the batteries.
Maybe you should bring it to the place you bought it from. I do not know how long you have had it. Are there any Radio Shack stores near you? They seem to be very knowledgeable about that kind of thing. If not maybe another electronic dealer would be able to help. I own the same camera but have never had a problem with it.
