Need help with FE-230 Olympus camera, it isn’t being recognized by my computer.?
It’s connected, followed all the instructions in the manual, but it will only come up as ‘Unknown Device’. From there, I can try to update the driver(which worked for several of my mp3 player’s before) but it cannot find anything to work with(had the CD that came with inserted of course). Upon searching, Olympus Master 2 cannot find any cameras.
The Olympus digital cameras do not require device drivers – they should be automatically recognized by a computer as an removable external drive. It could be a problem with the USB port of the camera or the computer, or it could be a problem with the USB cable. You could be spending some time to isolate the problem. An alternative solution is to use a memory card reader – like this:
