is Olympus Evolt-420 10 Megapixel Digital SLR a good camera?
I saw an ad for it, and it seemed cool. I’m only the family memory keeper, but am ready to move on up to a dslr. I keep hearing the canon rebel is a great starter cam, and saw costco sells it for $499. this olympus is $100 more, and has a great ad. I just want to know if it has more than advertising going for it.
Olympus E420 is a great DSLR , and one of the smallest and lightest DSLR (380g), using the 4/3 CCD sensor the Telecentric lens give Fringe free shots.
I’ve got the E510 which is about the same, (10 MP 460g Image stablisation)
Only drawbacks are
smaller sensor then most DSLR 4/3= (17.3 x 13mm) which means the photos are noiser at higher ISO (400+) compared to (22.2 x 14mm) Cannon , and (23.7 x 15.6mm) on the Nikon
No Image Stablisation
Might be to small for some people
other DSLR to look at the Nikon D40 and the Cannon 400D
The best way is to go into the Store and have a look and feel of each DSLR, and see which one you prefer.
