How do I get my camera to connect to the computer?
so I want to make some stop motion stuff… I downloaded monkeyjam (programme to make it)
BUT
when I connect my camera to the computer it doesn’t come up as ‘recognised’ by monkeyjam.
to check its not just that programme i tried windows movie maker too and it doesnt come up there either.
I have windows vista
and a samsung VP-D362 camcorder
i tried downloading a driver but it didnt seem to work although it claimed to have “installed successfully”
any help would be great, thanks 
If you’ve got your camcorder plugged into your computer by USB and it’s set to record mode and Monkeyjam still can’t detect it, then your camera probably can only provide a live feed through a different kind of connection. This website says your camcorder can provide a Video Out connection through Composite (yellow wire) or firewire.

If your computer doesn’t have a firewire port or a Video In jack, you may need to buy a firewire or composite to USB adapter. The Composite video to USB adapter will be the cheaper of the two.

It’s still not guaranteed to work, you may need to give different brands of adapters a try so keep your receipts just in case. You could also just buy a webcam, since their sole purpose is to provide a live video feed to the computer so they’re guaranteed to work. If you need any more help or info let me know.
