Nikon coolpix S8000 camera not focusing?

While trying to take a video my camera froze with the lens half way out. I let it run out of battery and then turned it back on and the lens did not fix immediately, it seemed to be jammed. However after 24 hours or so I turned it back on and it fixed itself but now it wont focus even though I have tried different camera settings and held down the button half way to focus but it is all just a blur. Is there a way for me to fix this manually (by the way I am a novice with a camera and do not want it to get damaged even more) or do I take it to a shop to get fixed? If I do I have three question:
1) Which shop?
2) How expensive approximately?
3) How long will it take to repair?
