Will This Camera Be Ok To Use As A Camcorder?
I am looking for a small HD camcorder. After hours of research i cant find any that have a decent image stabilisation, as it will be used to film BMX/biking so smooth footage is a must. I have found the Panasonic Lumix TS2 digital camera which has optical image stabilisation and can also film in HD. Im not sure whether the image stabilisation will work for the filming though?

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 records video as AVCHD Lite which which HD-recording is limited to 720p/30. That is not bad for a point-and-shoot digital camera. As far as using the IS; it’s not a feature you should always use. That cam uses an electronic IS as opposed to a mechanical (gyro) lens IS, which is much better. IS is a little helper but having a steady camera regardless is always better. If you want to get decent video (smooth) when you are recording BMX (riding?), then you’ll need to mount the cam on your body, like to a helmet or use an arm band. If you use a handle-bar mount, the shaking will be overwhelming and unappealing to view. A helmet cam would be the best cam to use for on-board shots, like the VholdR ContourHD.
