old lens on a new pentax?
I have a pentax k2000 but I wanted to use my mothers lenses from her k1000. They are great lenses and I really would like to use them. The lenses mount just fine but the camera won’t let me take the picture, I set the camera to aperture priority or to manual and manual focus, but the picture won’t take. All the appears on my LCD screen is [442] and F—–
I assume the F—- is the lack of light meter. Does anyone know why the picture won’t take or what to do?

It will work.
You have to go into the menu/settings then it will work.
Check back here in 30 minutes and I will tell you how.
Edit.
Ok.
Press the menu button, use the 4 way controller to get to Custom Setting.
Again, use the 4 way controller to scroll down to #23 Aperture Ring. Make sure that #2 is selected.
It should work then.
