Cam freezing in Yahoo Messenger… Why?
This is kind of an odd situation. I have a laptop which is very capable of running a cam. I recently purchased a Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro, downloaded the latest Windows Vista drivers (which I’m running), and the camera runs fantastic, until…
I try using WinAmp to listen to music. My music is stored on an external HDD, which is also installed using latest drivers, etc. It seems that if I use WinAmp and use my cam at the same time, I’m not able to listen very long before one of them freezes and makes my computer impossible to shut down, or WinAmp to close. I’ve tried End Tasking, I’ve tried closing Processes. The programs will NOT disappear. I have to use a forced shut down (hold my power button) for anything to happen.
What is going on?? Anyone else having a similar problem?
This is because a conflict over resources and CPU (Processor or computer brain) both are heavy users of the CPU’s time or as we Tech Junkies call it “Clock – Cycles” which brings me to explaining that term a “clock cycle” is just a examination on how much it can accomplish in one cycle the better the clock cycle , the more it can get done which is why dual and quad core processors can accomplish a task in lets say Multimedia applications in lets say Photoshop,Gimp( The Free Photoshop) or work in Maya or 3DS MAX(3D Modeling Programs)
So in short I’m tryin to say your computer doesn’t have the strengh or time to run Winamp and your webcam at the same time
I know because I had a 500Mhz P3 and it would freeze up whenever I tried to run Skype the same would happen on any other not to well equiped system
My Advice Sell your Laptop and get a new one or have a Professional upgrade it but also my advice is if it is two to three years old just get rid of it and buy a new one
